In this role, you’ll join a global R&D team focused on CAD data analysis, multimodal AI modeling, and software integration. Your work will directly impact how manufacturers design, visualize, and automate their production processes — from 3D models to real-world components.
You’ll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge CAD data processing, multimodal embeddings, and AI-driven design automation, collaborating with top engineers from Japan and Vietnam to deliver products that transform how manufacturing companies operate.
Expected Role
You will initially manage one engineering team and, over time, may be responsible for multiple teams. Depending on business needs, your role may range from predominantly managerial to highly hands-on, including active contribution to development, code reviews, and architectural decisions. Communication across teams may involve both English and Japanese in a global working environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams in Vietnam.
- Balance hands-on technical contribution with people and delivery management.
- Participate in system design, architecture decisions, and technical reviews to ensure product quality and scalability.
- Drive engineering best practices including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and Agile processes.
- Conduct regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, coaching, and career development for engineers.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, and Business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
- Support engineering hiring, team scaling, and external engineering branding activities.
- Design and evolve engineering organization structure in line with product and business growth.
- Proactively identify organizational and technical issues, proposing and executing improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
What We’re Looking For (Must-have)
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or Development Team Manager with measurable delivery results.
- Strong background as a software engineer with hands-on development experience in complex, production systems.
- Experience driving product teams through ambiguous and evolving requirements.
- Solid expertise in system design, architecture, infrastructure, and technical decision-making.
- Experience leading Agile / Scrum-based development teams.
- Ability to balance technical depth with people management responsibilities.
- Fluent business communication skills in English.
- Currently based in Vietnam or willing to relocate and legally eligible to work in Vietnam.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing teams in multinational or global organizations.
- Experience in fast-scaling product or SaaS environments.
- Experience managing multiple engineering teams simultaneously.
- Business-level Japanese communication skills.
